Young Buddhists (and non-Buddhists)

YBHCS (English Young Buddhists for a Healthy and Compassionate Society) is a community of young people who practice Dharma and who want bring their practice in their society overloaded with violence, greed, anger and despair. The Five
Trainings Mindfulness constitute their practice, the most concrete practice of true love and compassion, which clearly shows the path to a life of harmony with each other and with Earth. If you're a young practitioner YBHCS urge you to reach your country. It can happen that some may feel angry and frustrated when we look at the environmental degradation caused by our company and we feel hopeless because we are not individually strong enough to change our way of life. The YBHCS gives us the opportunity to combine our energies and to act in sync. The collective practice surely bring transformation and healing to individuals and society. Come together and form local groups of YBHCS . Meet with the young people who are practicing in Plum Village, both monastic and lay, for support and information.

Buddhism must be recognized as a source of wisdom, a long-standing practice of understanding and love, not only as a form of devotion. The spirit of the Dharma is very close to the spirit of science, and the two minds are open and non-discrimination. You can join the YBHCS even if you're Christian, Muslim, agnostic or atheist. The practice of Maitri, brotherhood and sisterhood, and the foundation of Dharma. When members of

YBHCS meet fun-loving and connect to each other, listen to the teachings Dharma, to recite the Five Mindfulness Trainings and practice meditation is sitting and walking. The practice helps them to get rid of tension in the body and sensations, to live more deeply and enjoy every moment more of their daily lives, to practice compassionate listening and loving speech and to be reconciled with other people and to help others in society to act in the same way.
Discussions Dharma helps us to share our practice to each other, deepen our understanding of the Five Mindfulness Trainings and find more appropriate ways to immediately apply them in our daily lives so as to change society in the direction of compassion and harmony. Together we can discover many practical ways to help, such as:

1. offer total relaxation with our classmates before exams;
2. organize sessions in conflict resolution and reconciliation among our friends and with our families;
3. help our schools and our colleagues to adopt a more conscious way of consumption (eg contacting suppliers of organic food or food from installing distributors of fair trade);
4. promotes a day without the use of cars;
5. Deep Ecology facilitate workshops to help awaken the sense of responsibility to the planet.
6. create organic gardens in schools, universities and urban centers;
7. Use the tools and the insights of Buddhism to help friends who struggle with drug addiction and other similar fuel economy.
8. work with local voluntary organizations to help the needy and support projects in the developing world. The

YBHCS can also organize camps and retreats so many others, young and old, can come and share the practice of a joyful life and aware so that we can feed ourselves through contact with nature.
The Five Mindfulness Trainings encourage each of us to live in such a way that our Planet will be able to survive for a long time. These exercises are the foundation of the lives of members of YBHCS and represent their ideal of service. Awareness, Concentration and Wisdom are the energy cultivated by the practice and who bring tolerance, non-discrimination, understanding and compassion.
Plum Village In the last three decades has helped many young people in Europe, America and Asia to undertake this journey. Now you can set up groups of YBHCS in every country and in every city.
